Once vibrant and full of innovation, these deserts are now under threat from The Obscura—a creeping force of corruption that fractures networks, clouds knowledge, and undermines collaboration.

Guided by Bitsy, a clever and determined fennec fox, you’ll team up with the Desert Guardians to banish the Obscura, restore balance to the deserts, and earn rewards that reflect your contributions.

Each desert is guided by a Guardian, embodying a unique value that keeps the ecosystem thriving:

• Bitsy, the Fennec Fox (Guardian of Curiosity)
  Your guide on this journey, Bitsy represents resilience and curiosity. Once a trusted messenger between the Guardians, Bitsy now leads the charge to protect knowledge and restore the deserts.

• Gobi Bear (Guardian of Community)
  In the Gobi Desert, fractured connections have weakened the bonds that connect the community The Gobi Bear calls on Explorers to help them rebuild and grow.

  • Community tasks include engaging with Sahara AI’s social channels, creating user-generated content, and inviting others to join the mission.

• Jerboa (Guardian of Knowledge)
  Beneath the sands of the Sahara Desert lies corrupted knowledge that must be restored. The agile Jerboa inspires you to help in his journey to collect and validate these hidden data streams.

  • Knowledge tasks include annotating and validating datasets in Data Services Platform.

• Arabian Leopard (Guardian of Collaboration)
  Once a thriving center for partnerships, the Arabian Desert now faces broken alliances. The Arabian Leopard guides you to repair networks and rebuild trust.

  • Collaboration tasks include interacting with various ecosystem partners.

• Emperor Penguin (Guardian of Creation)
  The Antarctic Desert holds frozen pipelines for AI creation, now corrupted by the Obscura. The Emperor Penguin urges innovators to revive and stabilize these essential tools.

  • Creation tasks include using the Sahara AI platform to build and deploy innovative new AI models, agents, or applications.

• Guanaco (Guardian of Decentralization)
  The Patagonian Desert, once the foundation of decentralized AI, now faces structural collapse. The vigilant Guanaco entrusts you to fortify the blockchain.

  • Decentralization tasks include studying our developer documentation, submitting pull requests, and deploying smart contracts on the Sahara AI testnet.

How Sahara Legends Works

1. Start Your Journey in the Gobi Desert
   The adventure begins in the Gobi Desert, where you’ll reconnect the community and earn your first Shards. Additional deserts will unlock over time, each with its own challenges, themes, and rewards.

2. Complete Tasks
   Challenges in each desert align with the Guardian’s mission. Tasks range from engaging with the community to technical contributions like building AI pipelines or deploying blockchain tools.

   • Example tasks:

     • Interact with Sahara AI’s social media or create user-generated content.

     • Complete data annotation tasks on Sahara AI’s Data Service Platform.

     • Launch applications or submit pull requests to strengthen the Sahara Blockchain.

3. Earn Shards
   Completing tasks earns Shards, which are tied to the desert you’re exploring. The more tasks you complete, the more Shards you collect, and the closer you are to unlocking rewards.

4. Mint Guardian NFTs
   Gather enough Shards in a desert to forge a soulbound Desert Guardian NFT on the Sahara Testnet. These soulbound tokens are unique to each desert and commemorate your contributions. SBT NFTs cannot be transferred or sold.

5. Unlock Bitsy’s Legacy
   Earn all five Desert Guardian NFTs to forge the exclusive Bitsy NFT, a symbol of your ultimate achievement in restoring the ecosystem.

6. Track Progress and Compete
   Use the gamified map to follow your progress and see which deserts are available, in progress, or completed. Compete with other Explorers on the weekly leaderboard to earn additional Shards and recognition.
